HYDERABAD: Two persons made a vain effort to break open an Axis Bank ATM located in the Sahara Estates in Vanasthalipuram on Wednesday.
According to police, two miscreants entered the ATM around 3.30 a.m and tried to break it open. However, after hearing sounds, a resident of Sahara Estates woke up and noticed the duo trying to break open the ATM using iron rods. He immediately raised an alarm following which the duo took to their heels leaving behind the motorcycle (AP 22 N 2971) on which they had come. The motorcycle was found to have been registered in Mahabubnagar district. Later in the day, a complaint was lodged by Kiran Kumar, branch manager, Axis Bank, LB Nagar.
Based on a complaint lodged by the branch manager, police registered case under section 380 (theft) and 511 (attempting to commit offence) of IPC and investigation is on.
