HYDERABAD: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy gave his approval on Monday for a proposal to set up a huge inter-city bus station in public- private partnership mode.

The passenger terminal will have a built-up area of about one lakh sq.ft with 200 bus bays and platforms for outstation buses, with bus parking for 1,000 buses, 30 bus bays for city buses, fuel, including CNG, filling stations, dormitories for drivers, parking lots for two, three and four-wheel vehicles, a budget hotel, restaurants, medical and emergency facilities, a police outpost, etc.

TRUCK PARKS: Kiran Kumar Reddy also approved a plan to establish two Logistic Parks (truck terminals).

One will come up in an area of 40 acres at Batasingaram on the Vijayawada Highway (NH-9).

It will have space for parking 500 trucks, a warehouse with a space of 2 lakh sq ft, a cold storage with a capacity of 10,000 tonnes, automobile service centres, dormitories, restaurants, fuel stations, an electronic weigh bridge, a primary health centre, commercial and office space, etc.

The other will be set up in a 22-acre land at Managalapally on the Nagarjunasagar Highway, about half a kilometre from the Bonguluru junction on the Outer Ring Road.

It will have space for parking for 250 trucks, one lakh sq ft of warehousing, cold storage with 5,000 tonne capacity, automobile service centres, dormitories, restaurants, fuel stations, commercial and office space, etc.

OUTER RING ROAD: Reddy asked Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority officials to speed up the work on the Outer Ring Road, the Dundigul- Shameerpet stretch in particular.

He wanted all the new projects taken up by HMDA completed as per schedule.

The chief Minister who is also chairman of the HMDA, presided over the fourth meeting of the authority at the Secretariat on Monday.

The meeting agreed to extend the deadline to receive suggestions and objections to the Draft Metropolitan Plan-2031 till February 21.

The draft plan will also be translated into Urdu.

Reddy reviewed the progress of works on a residential layout at Uppal Bhagath, a comprehensive transportation study for Hyderabad metropolitan area, construction of ramp at PVNR Exspressway, Inner Ring Road to Mylardevpally (via Laxmiguda, Jalpally and Mamidipally to Srisailam highway), radial roads, construction of a railway overbridge on the main spinal road from KPHB to Hitec City, construction of a bridge across the Musi near Bapu Ghat, and cleaning and improvement of the Hussainsagar lake and catchment areas
