HYDERABAD: Princess Fatima Fouzia, daughter of the late Prince Muazzam Jah Bahadur, on Thursday approached the High Court with a plea to suspend the All-India Council for Technical Education’s approval to the Sultan-ul Uloom Educational Society to run an engineering college from its premises in Banjara Hills.

The society runs the Muffakham Jah Engineering College from a 24.10 acre premises called Mount Pleasant on Road No.3, Banjara Hills.

Six acres of the land are the subject of a dispute.

Prince Shahamath Ali Khan, son of the late Muazzam Jah Bahadur, had given an irrevocable power of attorney to one S V Nagaraja Reddy in respect of these six acres.

In view of the civil litigations pending on this piece of land, the petitioner contended that the AICTE’s permission for the engineering college be stood down.

Despite her representation, the council granted approval to the educational society which was illegal, she contended.
