HYDERABAD: A couple from Kadapa, who came for medical treatment to the city, were knocked down by a speeding car at Jubilee Hills on Friday.
The couple Subbarayadu (40) and Jayamma (36), hail from Prodattur in Kadapa district.
As Subbarayudu was suffering from back pain, he came to the city for treatment.
The couple went to KBR Park for a stroll and when they were crossing the road on Road No 2 in Jubilee Hills, a speeding car hit them.
The duo died instantly.
Jubilee Hills police took the car driver into custody and are investigating.
In another accident, a private school bus rammed into an electric pole at Information Colony in Hayathnagar.
The bus belonging to Ramdevi Public School hit the pole when the driver was taking a reverse turn.
Though there were nearly 20 students when the accident took place, no one was injured.
