HYDERABAD: Two employees of the accountant general’s office in the city were arrested for taking bribe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials. The CBI sleuths trapped senior audit officer, J Srinivasa Rao and auditor, P Rama Rao, when they demanded and accepted `4,800 from the senior assistant of DGPR Government Polytechnic College in Kurnool, M Ramakrishnudu, for not raising any objections against the college during the financial audit which was underway, an official release said.

CBI officials said the two auditors have taken `13,000 as bribe earlier from Ramakrishnudu.

A case under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against the duo, the release said.

Subsequent to the trap, CBI sleuths conducted searches on the office and residential premises of the two officers.
