HYDERABAD: A large turnout of SI aspirants led to a stampede forcing the police to use mild force at the Central Police Lines at Amberpet on Friday.

Saturday being the last day for submitting applications, thousands of aspirants gathered to submit their forms for the SI posts. Though the process of submission of forms has been going on for the past one month, thousand of aspirants turned up just a day before the last date of submission of forms.

Trouble started when the application form counter was opened on Friday morning. The aspirants vied with each other to submit their application which led to a stampede like situation.

Policemen soon swung into action and had to use mild force to bring the situation under control.

The candidates have to submit the forms and take a token with a date to come for verification of the application form, give their fingerprints and take hall tickets for the examination.

Four teams were formed and the applications were taken from the aspirants in a smooth manner after the initial chaos, officials said.
