HYDERABAD: A worker of Marriott Hotel was among five persons killed in separate road accidents since Saturday. R Chandrasekhar (30), a native of Nagpur, working as a bar executive in the hotel was killed in a road accident on Tank Bund in the wee hours of Sunday.

Chandrasekhar was working in the hotel for the last three months and was staying in a rented house at Gudimalkapur near Mehdipatnam. He left the hotel on his motorcycle and as he reached the Tank Bund, he was hit by an RTC bus belonging to Ranigunj depot. Chandrasekhar suffered severe injuries and died instantly. Gandhi Nagar police arrested the bus driver.

In another incident, two youngsters were killed after their motorcycle was hit by an RTC bus at Ghatkesar. The victims, Srikanth and Javed (both aged 21 years) were travelling on a motorcycle from Manikeshwar Nagar near Osmania University when a bus belonging to Jangoan depot hit their vehicle near Aushapur village. They died instantly. Police launched a manhunt to trace the bus driver. A mason was killed in a road accident at Vanasthalipuram. K Nagesh (24) of Mansoorabad, along with his friend, P Ravi, went to a footwear shop at Sushma theatre and were returning when their two-wheeler was hit by a lorry.

Nagesh came under the wheels of the lorry and died instantly.

A 40-year-old man was crushed to death under the wheels of a lorry near his residence at Indiranagar in Borabanda late on Saturday night. The deceased, Jangaiah, was sitting atop the lorry loaded with debris when he slipped after the vehicle tilted slightly in a pothole.
