Teenage girl missing, family fears kidnap

HYDERABAD: A class VI girl, who went out of her home to purchase a pen, went missing at Shamshabad on Wednesday. Though, the family lodged a complaint of kidnap, police said they are not sure whether the girl was abducted or is she just missing and claimed that the family had not received any ransom call. Unconfirmed reports said the family did actually receive a call.

The girl, J Anusha (13), is daughter of Kistaiah, a realtor from R B Nagar of Shamshabad mandal. She is a student of class VI in CMR Chinma y a s chool .On Wednesday morning around 8.30 a.m, Anusha left home to purchase a pen from a nearby shop.

She started 10 minutes early as she had to purchase the pen. Her school van comes around 8.40 a.m. and Anusha did not turn up to board the bus.

Anusha’s elder brother, Pavan, studies class VIII in same school and he boarded the bus in a hurry and forgot to take note of his sister’s absence initially. After travelling some distance, he found his sister missing and alerted the bus staff. He contacted his family members, who started a search for Anusha and reached the school finally where they did not find Anusha there too.

Later, they went to the Shamshabad police and lodged a complaint fearing Anusha was kidnapped.

Police investigations, found that a silver Qualis car with Karnataka registration plates was seen roaming in the locality on Wednesday morning and suspected that the inhabitants of the car might have whisked away the girl. Police officials said it is unclear whether the girl was kidnapped or is just missing.
