HYDERABAD: A woman from Vizag who was lured by a man with the promise of a job in Hyderabad was relieved of her gold and silver.

Estranged from her husband, Neeraja Ratnam, 30, went to the Vizag collector's office on Feb. 28 to seek a job to support herself. She wasn't able to meet any officer but came in contact with one Kishore who said he could find her a job. The next day, they travelled to Hyderabad and checked into Sitara lodge near the Secunderabad railway station.

On Thursday, Kishore told Neeraja it was unsafe to wear jewellery in the city and persuaded her to deposit her ornaments with him.

In the evening, they went to a hotel for a meal. Kishore left her seated, saying he would go fetch the meal tokens.

She waited for him for a couple of hours, and then went back to the lodge.

Kishore had fled with the woman's gold and silver.

Police have launched a search for the man based on footage obtained from the closed circuit TV installed at the lodge.
