HYDERABAD: Punjagutta police on Monday arrested nine persons in connection with a murder for gain and recovered a country-made revolver, two cars and two bikes from them. The arrested included an ex-serviceman who provided the weapon to the other accused.
Accordding to police, the victim, K Narsimhulu, an Innova driver, was threatened with weapons and abducted by three persons from Somajiguda on Feb 10.
They took Narsimhulu to Kotwalguda under Shamshabad police station limits and throttled him to death.
An ex-serviceman, P Ramalingam, is behind the killing. The stolen car was later sold to another person, Ramalingam, for `11 lakh, police said.
Investigating into the case, police arrested Syed Ismail, Mohd Hussain Qadri, Mohd Akbar Ali, P Ramalingam, Ch Ramesh, A Srinivas, V Rajendranath, M Buchi Reddy and Sunil. Two other accused -- Siva and Tatineni Venkateswara Rao are absconding.
