HYDERABAD: Governor ESL Narisimhan on Tuesday released a book, ‘Charitarthulu Mana Telugu Peddalu', a compilation of brief biographical sketches of 101 eminent Telugu personalities who had done the Telugus proud.

The book is written by Malladi Krishnanand.

Releasing the book at a simple function held at the Raj Bhavan in the presence of several media bigwigs, the governor stressed the relevance of such books in the present day as they enlightened both adults and children about the long forgotten great personalities.

Such books helped one know the core values upheld by those personalities and imbibe them and one could fall back upon them in times of trouble and confusion, he said and praised Krishnanand for painstakingly gathering the information on a broad sweep of personalities.

Speaking extempore in Telugu, he also hailed the author for his good public relations and persuasive skills. Public relations guru Narasimha Reddy, principal secretary to governor N. Ramesh Kumar and senior mediapersons said the book was greatly relevant to people in the public relations and media fields in particular and the public in general.

Earlier, Krishnanand gave a brief backgrounder on the book and said it was his second book after ‘Mana Telugu Peddalu' which also covered over 100 other personalities.

The present book was on personalities who were no more living but whose life stories were greatly relevant to the present generation, he said.
