HYDERABAD:  Two suspended APSRTC conductors and their associate were arrested on Wednesday for preparing fake SSC certificates to those aspiring candidates for conductor posts. Five candidates were already arrested by the police after the scam came to light early this month. Police came to know that the trio have been preparing fake certificates since the past couple of years.

The two arrested, Sridhar Rao  and Bhaskar Reddy were selected as conductors in Mahbubnagar district in 2001 and were posted in Kalwakurthy depot. The two were suspended after they were arrested in a pseudo naxal case in 2006. Another accused, B Sattaiah alias Satyam is a resident of Amberpet and was earlier arrested in a fake certificate case by Narayanguda police. He is a friend of Bhaskar Reddy.

After suspension,Rao and Reddy identified some persons promising them conductor posts on contract basis and charged Rs 25,000- 30,000 for the fake certificates. “By submitting the fake certificates, 25 persons were recruited as conductors  in Mahbubnagar district in the last four years.
