HYDERABAD: M T Krishna Babu, commissioner, GHMC held a review meet with members of city beautification and infrastructure committee on Thursday. He reiterated his stand that GHMC is engaged in removing advertisements in central medians as and when their agreement lapses. He also mentioned that GHMC is proposing flooring of central medians and decorating them with potted plants, which could reduced the cost of maintenance.
The commissioner further informed that GHMC is engaged in removing all hoardings on religious structures as per directions of the high court from 31st March. The commissioner instructed members of the committee to freeze the themes and to decide the rate for sq mtr and said that he would hold a meeting with CII on beautification of certain corridors based on expenditure estimates given by the committee members. He also informed that GHMC would spend upto Rs 150 crore for of approach roads.
