Actress Genelia, realty firm face cheating case

HYDERABAD: A local court on Friday directed the Saifabad police to register a cheating case against leading actress Genelia d'Souza, the brand ambassador of Anjani Puthra Infrastructure Private Limited (APIPL), and the directors of the company for allegedly failing to hand over a plot-cum-duplex house as promised to a customer.

The customer, Chata Tirupathaiah, paid Rs 48 lakh in cash against the actual price of Rs 54 lakh for purchasing the plot-cum-duplex house at Kalwakol in Maheshwaram mandal but APIPL allegedly failed to give him possession of  the house.  In his petition, Tirupathaiah made APIPL, its MD Sujith Reddy, directors Sudarshan Kumar Reddy, C Venkata Manohar Reddy and the company's brand ambassador Genelia as respondents.

The first addl chief metropolitan magistrate court directed Saifabad cops to register cases against accused.
