HYDERANAD: A 23-year-old employee of a private agency, which handles ATM replenishment and maintenance, ran away with Rs15 lakh cash which was supposed to be deposited in an ATM.

The incident took place at a mall located in Madhapur.

According to police, the accused has been identified as B Prabhakar, who was working with Writers Safeguard Agency, Balanagar as a cash boy.

Sub Inspector, Madhapur, G Suresh said that the Writer Safeguard Services, which handles ATM replenishment and maintenance, is taking care of as many as 30 ATM centres belonging to various banks in Madhapur.

To deposit money at an ATM located in Inorbit Mall, three persons Karunakar, Ravinder Reddy and B Prabhakar reached the ATM which belongs to City Bank.

While Ravinder and Karunakar were checking cash amount details at the ATM, Prabhakar stole Rs 15 lakh cash from the vehicle and ran away from the place.

With Prabhakar disappearing from the place with the cash, Ravinder informed Srinivas the general manager of the company.

Srinivas lodged a complaint with the Madhapur police stating that one of their employees B Prabhakar stole Rs 15 cash.

Based on the complaint lodged by Srinivas, Madhapur police have booked a case against Prabhakar and are investigating.

Prabhakar is now a fugitive
