HYDERABAD: The number of applications for agriculture and medicine courses has reached a four-year high this year thanks to the decline in the craze for engineering courses. The number stands at 91,176, a steep rise from last year’s 68,640.

According to Eamcet convener NV Ramana Rao, 3,83,310 applications have been received till Friday. These include 2,200 from abroad. The online application system enabled more Indians living across the globe to apply.

The system had been in vogue for two years but was optional.
