Probe into bio-piracy initiated

A fillip to preserve indigenous species of plant and cattle was given by the declaration of the chairman of the national biodiversity authority (NBA) Dr. Balakrishna Pisupati. “An investigation in to the bio-piracy of the Ongole bull species and Gir cattle varieties has been initiated and criminal cases will be booked against those found guilty of shipping germplasm from India to other countries,” said the chairman of NBA.  He was speaking on the side-lines of COP-11.
