5.6 kg silver stolen from temple

Unidentified persons decamped with 5.6 kg silver ornaments worth Rs 6 lakh from a Hanuman temple at Uppuguda in Chatrinaka police station limits here on the wee hours of Saturday.

According to sub inspector P Ashok Kumar, at around 4.30 am, the priest who came for cleaning the temple premises noticed that the lock was broken and informed the temple chairman Sriramulu about the theft, who then lodged a complaint with the police.
