‘Register solar projects’

The state government on Monday directed the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of AP (NREDCAP) to complete the registration process within five days after filing of application for solar projects. The state recently announced a new solar power policy.

Transco and Discoms were directed to clear the proposal for evacuation of power produced from solar projects within 21 days, said principal secretary Energy M Sahoo. The new solar power policy is expected to attract investments for setting up manufacturing facilities, which can generate gainful local employment. The new solar power policy would remain applicable till 2017.
