In an inebriated condition, a man killed his three-day-old baby girl by banging her twice against the floor. The incident took place at Chinatal Basthi in Saidabad here on Wednesday.
Police took the father, Shabeer (33), into their custody and are investigating the case. It is alleged that he took the decision of killing the baby because of the birth of a girl child. According to police, the parents of the baby conducted a function at their home on the occasion of the girl’s birth. “Around 2.30 pm, Shabeer came home in a drunken condition and argued with his brother. During the altercation, he took the baby from cradle and banged her on the floor,” police said.
