Reasons for him taking the extreme step are no yet known. The deceased, D Sashi, was a native of Alleppey in Kerala.

“At 10. 37 am, the IAF staff heard a loud bang and as they rushed to find the source of the noise, they saw Sashi lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

The staff then alerted the police, who rushed to the spot,” Alwal inspector B Pushpan Kumar said. He said that Sashi reported for duty at 9. 45 am and relieved the two guards on duty there. Around 10. 37 am, Sashi committed suicide.
