One of the three held for the rape of a young woman near the Kaigal waterfall died here on Friday.
Police claim that the accused, M.Hari (25), suffered fits while being brought from K’taka along with the two other accused and was admitted to the Palamner hospital. But he died while undergoing treatment.
Palamaner DSP Joshuva confirmed the death of one of the accused Police took the trio into custody in Karnataka. One of them, M. Hari of Thondralam in Chinthamani taluk in Karnataka, suffered fits while the three were being brought to the Gangavarma police station. Hari was admitted to the Palamaner hospital where he died.
