Mango mania

After mangoes, the next common happenning for the season are the abundant mango festivals that crop up across the city. And sharing the flavour is Golkonda hotel.

Being hosted at their in-house restaurant Melange, the two-week mango festival will present a feast of mango-based dishes for patrons. From traditional preparations like mamdikayi pappu and mamidikayi mamsam, other dishes include the Thai mango chicken salad, jerk spiced chicken with spicy mango salsa and desserts like mango cheese cake, fresh mango tart, mango tiramisu and much more. If the festival seems like an overdose of the fruit, the a la carte menu will also include other dishes.

Crafted by the hotel’s executive chef, Anurudh Gupta, the festival will have something for everyone. Talking about the menu, the chef shared, “We have used mango in every form to add a different flavour and texture to the dishes.”

Ranging from a dessert dish priced at Rs 190 to a non-vegetarian curry at Rs 410, a day at the festival will be just about heavy on your wallet.

Also seen at the launch of the mango fest was Rajiv Chilaka, the creator of the cartoon character Chhota Bheem along with his team.
