Strongly condemning the killings at Edasmeta in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, in which eight persons including three children were done to death, Revolutionary Democratic Front (RDF) president Varavara Rao has demanded a  stop to the genocide of Adivasis in the name of fighting Maoists.

In a statement here on Tuesday, he held the joint team of COBRA battalion of CRPF, armed forces in Chhattisgarh and district police of Bijapur responsible for the killings on May 17.

‘’The killings were part of the Green Hunt and RDF strongly condemns the cold-blooded killing of the innocents by the state armed forces,’’ he said. He demanded that those responsible for the killings be charged with homicide, tried in a court of law and punished.
