Stating that the police would take action against cattle slaughter, the Cyberabad police commissioner CV Anand on Sunday asked the Goshala Federation members not to take law into hands and engage in moral policing.

Anand convened a meeting with Goshala Federation joint commissioner, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) and the assistant commissioner of police (ACP)on Eid-al-Adha (Bakrid) on Sunday.

The police commissioner asked the Goshala Federation members not to take law into their hands while acting as moral police. Police would take stern action as per the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act, 1977, if any person is involved in the offence. “If any person is involved in transporting cattle for slaughter, the Goshala members can alert the police for assistance in the prevention of such offences,” said Anand.
