Man arrested after his dog bites 10-year-old girl

The Malkajgiri police arrested a 27-year-old employee of a private firm for negligent conduct with respect to his dog that bit a 10-year-old girl. The victim was hospitalised receiving serious injures in the incident.

The Malkajgiri police arrested a 27-year-old employee of a private firm for negligent conduct with respect to his dog that bit a 10-year-old girl. The victim was hospitalised receiving serious injures in the incident.

According to police, the victim and the accused are tenants of a house located in Moula-ali in Malkajgiri police limits. The accused is Saikiran and the victim is Satya Atidhi.

Two-days ago, when Satya Atidhi along with her parents were entering into the house through main gate, the dog belonging to Saikiran attacked the girl. Even though the parents tried to rescue the girl, the dog bit the girl at several of parts of her body. Receiving serious biting injures, the girl was hospitalised,’’ said the Malkajgiri Sub Inspector E Jahangir Yadav.

‘’After admitting the victim in a hospital, the victim’s father Prasad Rao approached the police and lodged a complaint in which he stated that his neighbour’s dog attacked his daughter and made severe injures.

Even though he brought the issue to dog’s owner, who failed to respond,’’ the SI said.

Based on the complaint, the police registered cases against dog’s owner Saikiran under section 289 ( Negligent conduct with respect to animal) of IPC and arrested him.
