HYDERABAD: Sultan Bazar police on Monday arrested 21-year-old Satish Kodkar, who was on run for allegedly beating to death his junior KS Harshvardhan Rao when the latter objected to him eve-teasing a girl student at their college, was arrested from Kachiguda railway station.

Police picked him up from Kacheguda railway station late Sunday night. He was produced before the court on Monday which remanded him in 14-day judicial custody.

Meanwhile, a condolence meeting was held on college premises on Monday.

The incident happened on Saturday when Rao objected to eve-teasing of his classmate by Satish, following which a scuffle broke out between the two in the classroom.

Satish punched Harshvardhan’s face, making him fall down with his head hitting the bench.

He was declared dead by 4.30 p.m.

A murder case has been registered against Satish at Sultan Bazar police station, police said.
