Sainik Dept's Plea for Donations to Flag Day Fund

HYDERABAD: On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day on Tuesday, the department of Sainik Welfare of Telangana state called for a generous expression of solidarity with the valiant armed forces personnel by contributing to the Flag Day Fund.

As a token of gratitude and social responsibility, with governor ESL Narasimhan as chairman and chief secretary Rajiv Sharma as vice chairman, senior IAS officers and senior retired retired defence officers as members, the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund has been set up by the government to rehabilitate and restore the honour of war veterans, war widows, disabled soldiers, ex-servicemen and their families.

Col. P Ramesh Kumar (retd), director of  Sainik Welfare, told reporters that hundi boxes were being circulated for the purpose. Those who wish to donate could also send cheque/demand drafts drawn in favour of ‘The Director, Sainik Welfare, Hyderabad’ and despatch to ‘Director, Sainik Welfare, Tealangana, Sainik Aramghar Complex, Second Lane Next to Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda, Hyderabad’.

Donors are requested to write their name, address and mobile number on the back of the cheque. Donations to the Flag Day Fund are exempted u/s 80G of IT Act 1961. Donors may also remit their contributions through NEFT to the following bank account and intimate through email at directorrsb-ts@nic.in so that receipt can be forwarded to their address.
