Property Tax Can be Paid at Banks, says GHMC

HYDERABAD: Citizens can pay their property tax, trade licence fee, advertisement fee and other fees at any of the 400 bank branches of nationalised banks in Greater Hyderabad from second week of December in a hassle-free manner, GHMC Special Officer, Somesh Kumar said.

Similarly people who wanted to apply for trade licence and advertisements, permissions would be allowed to apply online to simplify the procedure and help people get the permissions without any delay.

With an aim to conduct office procedures electronically for a simplified, responsive, effective and transparent working and reduce manual working, the GHMC will start e-GHMC from December 10.

After taking charge ad special officer, Somesh Kumar held a detailed review meeting with officials of all GHMC wings on Saturday evening. He asked the Town officials concerned that building applications that were received prior to November 25 should be cleared and building permissions as well as Occupancy certificates should be issued before December 21 if all the files are found in proper order. If the applications is rejected, they should cite the reasons with clarity, he added.

He directed the officials to identify the open spaces and protect them by constructing the boundary walls. So far GHMC has identified as many as 3,086 open spaces and their list would be put on the GHMC website. These open space would be protected at all cost and see that they are protected from encroachers  and land grabbers, he added.

As part of development of two graveyards, revival and development of  one lake in each GHMC Circle, Somesh Kumar directed the Zonal Commissioners to take up the works pertaining to proposed development of lakes and graveyards and to complete them within the stipulated time on priority basis.

Weekly Property Tax Parishkaram from Today

Hyderabad: To address grievances relating to property tax, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will start conducting Property Tax Parishkaram (PTP) for year 2014-15 on every Sunday from December 7 to March 22 next. GHMC special officer Somesh Kumar requests  all property tax payers in Greater Hyderabad to come up with their grievances of their respective circles pertaining to pending mutations, legal cases, revision petitions, new assessment of properties and any other tax-related matters.  The PTP will be conducted on December 7 and 21, January 4 and 25, February 15 and 22, March 1, 8, 15 and 22, 2015. The timings will be from 9.30 am to 1 pm.  The PTP programme will be conducted in all the circle and zonal offices on Sundays for the convenience of the tax payers to settle their property tax pending issues. The special officer assured that grievances would be solved on the spot or followed up and solved at the earliest and requested all the tax payers to avail the opportunity to settle their grievances pertaining to property tax in property tax Parishkaram programme. PTP was conducted in February and March this year.
