HYDERABAD: The Telangana Transport Department directed the auto owners to display full details of owners and drivers of autos, including name, address, phone numbers and photo, at the back of driver’s seat in such a way that it should be visible to the passengers. One issue which might hinder it is the constant change of drivers of autos. Usually, one person buys an auto and gives it for rent to other drivers. There are more than one lakh autos plying in the city at present. T Raghunath, joint transport commissioner, said a display method would be followed so that the details can be changed easily whenever the driver changes. However, a definite deadline is not set for auto owners and drivers to follow this direction. “We cannot enforce everything suddenly. The details will be displayed in all the autos in course of time,” he said.
