HYDERABAD: With symbols being allotted and all political parties announcing the names of contestants whom they are supporting, campaigning for Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) has gained momentum.
There are 114 candidates are in fray in SCB elections and symbols have been allotted to them on Saturday. Though it is actually political parties which pull the strings in SCB elections, the elections are fought by contestants independently. Therefore symbols play a key role and contestants wait eagerly for the symbols.
“We have been eagerly waiting for symbols to print publicity material like wall posters and banners,” D Ambika, a contestant from Ward 4, who has been allotted gas cylinder symbol, said here on Sunday.
All political parties officially announced the final list of contestants whom they are supporting.
