Former Union Minister Kaka Passes Away

HYDERABAD:Senior Congress leader and former union minister G Venkata Swamy breathed his last after a brief illness here Monday. He was 85. He is survived by two sons and three daughters.

His body was kept at his residence at Somajiguda for public viewing and the last rites will be performed at Punjagutta crematorium on Tuesday afternoon. A staunch Congress loyalist, Kaka created a record by getting elected seven times to the Lok Sabha from Peddapally in Karimnagar district and Siddipet. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao paid tributes to Kaka, saying he had fought for the cause of Telangana.
