It was a day of celebration at the Loyola Academy Degree and PG college which celebrated its annual day on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, chief guest, Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh IPS Prasad Rao said that the teacher’s role shouldn’t end with imparting knowledge to students but moulding them into responsible citizens of the country. The students can then apply the knowledge acquired for ameliorating the condition of the poor and the rural areas.

He remembered his days at Loyola Academy, the strong foundation it laid in his career building and expressed his pride in being alumni of Loyola Academy. The day also saw members of staff and students with contributions in research, academics, cultural and sports activities being felicitated.

The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour Dr. MV. Rao, director general, National Institute of Rural Development felicitated the toppers in academics and winners of various sports and competitions by distributing prizes.
