The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation plans to start a Hyderabad-Bhadrachalam circuit package tour.
The new two-day tour will cover the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple, Papikondalu nature cruise and Kinnerasani dam.
According to RTC chief marketing manager Prasad, the tour’s uniqueness will be that people will be free to join and leave the circuit at any point. “If a person wants to stay in Bhadrachalam and does not wish to visit other places, he or she will be free to do so and will be picked up after completion of the rest of the tour. Similarly, people can even join the journey midway,” he said.
Tourists will be taken first to Bhadrachalam. After darshan, they will be taken on a boat journey to the Godavari river bed through the picturesque Papikondalu.
“Two boats will be operated between Pocharam and Perantalapalli. The boat ride takes the tourists through Papikondalu (Papi Hills) which are endowed with a wide variety of flora and fauna spreading across three districts. The Papikondalu wildlife sanctuary shelters animals which include tigers, panthers, antelopes, hyenas, jackals and spotted deer, and many species of birds,” he says.
After visiting Papikondalu, the tourists will be taken to the Kinnerasani dam. The rivulet is a tributary of Krishna river. The dam attracts people from all over the country. “Very close to the dam is the Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary visitors can see hyena, jackal, sloth bear, wild dog, Sambar, panther and the tiger. There is Kinnerasani lake in the sanctuary with an island in the middle which has a thick forest,” Prasad says.
The RTC launched 12 new package tours in January this year—Tirupati-Chandragiri, Tirupati-Kanipakam, Srisailam, Kadapa-Ahobilam, Kurnool-Belum caves, A’pur-Lepakshi, Hyd-Anantagiri, Nizamabad-Kuntala, Hanmakonda, Vizag-Araku,Hyderabad-Vargal-Keesara, and Nirmal-Basara.
