Mahbubnagar BJP MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy, who criticised party senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu over Telangana issue, on Wednesday revoked his statement and praised Naidu.

Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Srinivas Reddy said that he had high regard for Naidu and has made the remarks against the senior leader in an emotional context.  ‘’As the BJP central leadership has assured me that the party will not deviate from its stand on Telangana I have decided to withdraw my remarks made against Naidu,” he said.

According to sources Srinivas Reddy was forced to withdraw his remarks against Naidu by the party leadership.  Srinivas Reddy was not happy with Naidu taking a stand in favour of Seemandhra and  had criticised Naidu at a media conference and demanded that he (Naidu) clarify his stand on T. He accused the former BJP president of trying to stall the Telangana process.

The BJP leadership took serious note of Srinivas Reddy’s remark and demanded an unconditional apology from him. It is learnt that Srinivas Reddy has been asked to apologise to Naidu in public. The responsibility of getting an apology from him was entrusted to BJP state president G Kishan Reddy.
