Road from Banjara Hills Road No: 2 to Jubilee Hills Road No: 5 (Krishna Nagar junction) via Annapurna studio would  be named after noted Telugu film actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. A statue of the actor would be installed at Film Nagar,  labour minister Danam Nagender has said.

The minister requested Mayor M Majid Hussain to take up the issue in the standing committee meeting.

The minister on Thursday laid the foundation stone for development of road from Banjara Hills Road No. 2 to Jubilee Hills Road No 5 via Annapurna Studio at an estimated cost of Rs 7.20 crore.

With laying of the new road, traffic from    Krishna Nagar and part of traffic between Banjara Hills to Jubilee Hills will be diverted to this road and it will reduce the distance and also traffic congestion on Srinagar main road and Jubilee Hills Road No 5.

The present width of the road which is about 40 feet would be widened to 60 feet. Nagender said that the road will have a two-way ramp with one via duct structure.
