Want to start an industry in the state? Wait for a month. You can start and operate your industry electronically and without hassles. Chief secretary PK Mohanty launched the the beta-version of the eBiz portal at the Secretariat here on Friday.
The eBiz portal that will serve as a single-window facility for obtaining various clearances by industries.
In all, 13 services will be available on the eBiz portal.
“This mission mode project will mark a paradigm shift in the government’s approach to providing government-to-business service for investor and business communities in the state,” Talleen Kumar, joint secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce said. Mohanty said that AP was an advanced state in IT sector and it had already introduced IT services like Mee Seva for government-to-citizen and government-to-government services like online payment of scholarships to students.
Now, the government-to-business services would be made available to public within a month, Mohanty said.
“We have now launched the Beta version of the eBiz portal to obtain feedback from industry bodies and also familiarise officials of various departments. Once the familiarisation is complete, all the 13 services will be made available to general public from March 1,” Mohanty said. eBiz is one of the 32 integrated mission mode projects under the National e-Governance plan of the Central government.
eBiz would provide a secure one-stop shop for all investment and business-related information and services round-the-clock on a single portal.
AP FIRST STATE: AP has been selected as the first state for the launch of the project by the Centre, because of its excellent track record in providing timely industrial clearances. The national portal will gradually be expanded to cover all the single window services of the state as well as critical services of the Central government so as to enable business in the state to start and operate their companies electronically.
