The APTransco has constituted a committee for revision of pay and allowance for employees on Friday. Transco chairman and managing director Suresh Chanda issued orders to this effect on Friday. The committee will make a thorough study and furnish its recommendations on the revision of pay and allowances to all categories of employees of APTransco, AP Power Generation Corporation Ltd., and four Distribution Companies - APEPDCL, APCPDCL, APSPDCL and APNPDCL.

The agreement on wages with the employees unions and the management reached in April 2010 will expire in March.

APTransco director (finance and revenue) will be the chairman of the committee. Directors (finance) of APGenco and four Discoms will be the members of the committee.

The committee while recommending the wage structure should benchmark the overall employee cost as well as the salary scale with other similar power utilities, the orders said.

The financial burden due to wage recommendation should also have relevance to the capacity of the companies which could afford to bear from their internal resources without affecting the financial health or performance.

The wage revision impact on tariff should not cause undue hardships to the consumer.

The committee will also take up the issue of revision of special allowances if any to all the employees. The committee should submit the report by February 28.
