Robbers loot, Injure Couple

Posing as businessmen, as many as five persons including two women came to the house of an elderly couple and decamped with cash and gold ornaments after assaulting them.

The incident took place at Nagaram in Keesara police l imi ts on Wednesday night.

The victims were identified as K Kutumba Rao (83) and his wife Bhagawathi (80).

“On Wednesday night some persons came to Kutumba Rao’s house asking to lease his land for setting up a car shed.

After entering the house, they threw chili powder at Rao, assaulted him and his wife and then tied them to chairs.

They decamped with the gold ornaments and cash,” police said. The injured couple were rescued by their neighbours and shifted to a hospital. Police registered a case and took up investigation.
