A 38-year-old civil engineer, who tried to kiss a woman, was thrashed by locals and handed over to the police in Kukatpally on Sunday.
According to police, the accused was a habitual eve-teaser, involved in several cases of misbehaviour in Kukatpally and KPHB.
The accused was identified as Srinivas Raju, a resident of Nizampet and employed with a construction firm in Madhapur.
Kukatpally inspector S Chandrakanth said around 10:30 a.m., Srinivas and his friends noticed women travelling in an auto in Patelkunta. He followed the auto, which was proceeding towards Kukatpally, on his bike.“When the auto reached Patelkunta junction, Srinivas stopped the auto and misbehaved with the women. He then tried to kiss a passenger,” the inspector said. When the woman started screaming, passersby intervened and thrashed him. Later, he was handed over to the police.
