Vanasthalipuram police on Monday registered a case under Nirbhaya act against two teenagers and a 38-year-old man for alleged gang rape of a minor. All three have reportedly been taken into custody following a complaint by the girl’s father.
According to police, the victim, a first year Intermediate student from Ibrahimpatnam, was gang-raped by two teenagers, both of whom are known to her. One of them, who lives near her house, had messaged her to come to Bengaluru gate near Mannaguda bus stop on December 23, where the assault took place.
One of the accused is a 17-year-old electrician from the neighbourhood, while the other is an Intermediate student. The third accused, Srinivas Goud (38), was also booked for abetting the crime.
Inspector P Gopala Krishna Murthy said, “The 16-year-old was forced to go to the place as she was threatened with an acid attack if she failed to turn up. She was taken to nearby bushes and raped by the duo. Her father approached the police on Monday evening and a case under section 376(2)(g) of IPC was registered.”
It is learnt that she was drugged before the sexual assault. She remained in trauma for days before her mother sensed something wrong. Upon inquiring, it came to light that she was raped.
