He alone crosses this ocean of sansara, maya. He alone crosses. Sa lokam, sa taryati - he can redeem the world. He alone can take up any amount of stress from anybody and then dissolve it. He can redeem the whole world, uplift the whole world. That much patience, power and wisdom he gains. And he alone can do.
In the scriptures they say there are five signs of a Sadguru - Gyana raksha - in the presence of a Master, wisdom and knowledge is protected. You move away from the wise person and you seem to lose your knowledge, you seem to forget. But in the presence of the Master, all the knowledge comes up. There is protection of knowledge, of wisdom, for generations to come.
Dukhakshaya - sorrow diminishes. Sukhavirbhava - for no apparent reason joy wells up, happiness comes to you. Sarvasamvardhana - all talents blossom, hidden talents in people come up. Those who cannot sing, start singing, those who cannot write, start writing poems. Those who cannot cook, start cooking very well. People who could never speak in front of people start speaking. All the talents that are hidden in you, come up in you.
Samridhi - everything is in plenty, there is no dearth of anything. These are the five signs you see around a Sadguru - everything is full. Sa tarati sa tarati, sa lokam sa taryati. And he can redeem the world of its misery.
Throughout the ages, with all gestures, man is trying to express love - but it has remained inexpressible. Love is so deep somewhere in you, and you find all your expressions just a shadow of it. Often teenagers say that nobody understands them - it is a normal complaint. Just remember when you were a teenager, what was your complaint? “Nobody understands me!” isn’t that so? Nobody understands you or you find yourself incapable of expressing what you feel? If the feeling is so superficial, then it can be expressed. But the feeling that is so genuine, so deep, so authentic, is hard to express.
That is what Narada says in the next sutra: Anirvachaniyam premswarupam Anirvachaniyam - cannot be expressed! That is the nature of love! Tears will come, a glow comes on your face, the smile comes up. But words fail to express. Often all these outer expressions give you a glimpse of love, but not really the experience of it.
Anirvachaniyam premswarupam - cannot be expressed by words. Language is of the mind, of intellect. You can express any theory, theorem, philosophy through words. But feelings can only be felt. Communication on that level is beyond speech. And when lovers speak, they don’t make much sense.
