In a city that appreciates its biriyanis and kebabs for meals and dosas for breakfast, Testa Rossa’s breakfast menu is a welcome change. Started a few months ago, the menu isn’t elaborate and works for both the quick-stop pick-up and the leisure breakfast.

With three locations across the city – Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills and Gunrock Enclave –  the franchise caters to quite a few and provides a wholesome start to the day with a choice of sandwiches, omelettes, cereals, pancakes and muffins. Featuring even a vegetarian omelette (yes indeed!), there’s quite a bit to choose from.

Breakfast platters like the Farmer’s breakfast and Classic Italian breakfast include an assortment of sausages, in-house hash brownies, sauteed mushrooms and/or bacon and baked beans, while there are also a few choices under the stuffed omelette. For instance the Casalinga omelette makes for a sumptuous choice.

Working with the funda that if it can be done then it can be done, patrons may also get creative with their sandwiches and omelettes and ask for custom fillings.

The museli comes served with a special milk that is specially prepared in-house. Mixed with orange juice through a lengthy procedure, it is served with a few fresh fruits as well, starting your meal with a fruity and healthy punch. The omelette is usually served plain, perhaps not the ideal choice for people who prefer flavour, so you can instead opt for a filling of tomatoes, mushrooms and more. Depending on how you like your eggs, you can have them as you please with a choice between sunny-side up, boiled or fried. There’s also a choice of paninis if you don’t want a very elaborate meal.

Top it off with a serving of fruit salad or fresh fruits with pancake and maple syrup, or chocolate if you like.

There is a wider range of hot and cold coffee, special beverages and tea to wash down your meal. Their signature hot chocolate also makes for a delectable drink.

Breakfast is served everyday from 8 to 11 am, and you can always pick up a sugar doughnut or a chocolate glazed one on your way out.
