HYDERABAD, July 11 : Fed up watching the same old outdated multi media Laser Show at Lumbini Park? Visitors will soon get a respite as the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has decided to replace the entire laser equipment with a much more advanced version. The new version will be much more efficient and will contain new formations, to enhance the laser show activity by adding new themes that will  showcase the history and culture of Hyderabad in a recreational, educative and informative manner.

The quality of existing laser show has fallen down badly due to the wear and tear of the equipment. As a result, the show had become old and outdated. Due to the abhorrent quality of the laser show, there has been a drastic fall in the visitors attending the show in the last few years.

The Laserium was built in 2.5 acres abutting Lumbini Park on shoreline of Hussainsagar in 2004.

HMDA has invited tenders to replace the entire laser equipment with accessories with a new formation to enhance the laser show activity by adding two or more new themes. They have also asked agencies to design, supply, install, and commission multi media laser show including Operation and Maintenance for five years on turnkey basis.

The new components will include latest laser equipment, video projector, aqua, water screens, moving head projectors, fog machine, sound system and musical fountains.

Speaking to Express, HMDA officials said that the proposed laser system would have a stunning display of laser effects and graphic animations that will display all colors of the visible spectrum with water screens. It will also have good audio quality along with special effects of lighting, musical fountain etc with the latest state of art of technology. These would be integrated through a computer by means of mandatory show control software. The laser show have to confirm specifications from Centre for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH).

They said that contractor would be asked to develop at least two new show concepts based on history and culture of Hyderabad and Telangana complied with extended integrity with musical fountains which will be entertaining, informative, educative and creative. It will be prepared based on the approved scripts by HMDA.

The contractor would use the existing disc for formation of aqua screen. Video Projector with DVD format will be provided. Video,images, should be displayed using recorded or live video for an interactive display.

The contractor is expected to supply and install the components required for Moving Head projectors. The system must produce stunning display with state of the art of effects and graphic animations with all colors of the visible Spectrum. The fog machines with remote control interface must produce fantastic display of fog effects with multiple colors and operate and maintain the same. 

The laserium was developed with permanent seating arrangements, galleries and illumination and accommodates 1,950 visitors per show. Presently the laser show is exhibited by a theme related to the history of Hyderabad with Laser, animation equipments,film and water jet fountains synchronised with music for a period of 45 minutes in the evenings, including one show per day and two shows per day on holidays.
