Excise Dept Plans Border Check-posts

The excise departments has decided to set up border check- posts between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states to control illegal transport of liquor.

HYDERABAD: The excise departments has decided to set up border check- posts between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states to control illegal transport of liquor.

The commissioner of prohibition and excise,  AP, observes that in the coming days there will be a large-scale movement of liquor (import, export and transport of liquor) between two states and there is likelihood of smuggling of IMFL, ID liquor and other intoxicants. There is every need for creation of new border check-posts and border mobile patrolling parties to prevent smuggling of liquor between the two states of Telangana and AP.

Orders to this effect were issued by AP principal secretary (revenue) SP Singh on Monday.

The border check-posts, border mobile patrolling parties (BMPPs) will be located in Telangana as follows:
