After Kurnool Cops, Khammam Police Arrest Amway CEO

William was brought to Khammam from Kadapa jail on PT warrant on Thursday

KHAMMAM: Khammam One Town police arrested Amway chief executive officer William Scott Pinckney on the charge of cheating people with money circulation schemes on Thursday as Amway company’s marketing scheme is illegal under the provisions of The Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978.

Police produced William before the first Additional Magistrate Court which remanded him to 14-day judicial custody.

Later police shifted him to Warangal central jail. Advocate Juvvadi Rama Rao filed a complaint against William for cheating the people with money circulation schemes on May 19 at One Town police station in Khammam.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Section 420 of the Deposits and Money Circulation Act.

Khammam police went to Kadapa where William was lodged in a jail with PT warrant and brought him to Khammam Thursday. Khammam DSP K Balakrishna said that on the court directions William was shifted to the Warangal central jail.
