Chic Hairdos in Minutes

HYDERABAD: From tight top knots to 1940’s iconic waves, see which hairstyles are this season’s hottest focal point on the runway. TRESemmé expert, Daniel Bauer created six inimitable hairstyles coupled with stunning garments by Rocky S for the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week.

Decode three distinct hair trends from the show that can be recreated by any diva at home:

Bohemian Braid

  • Blowdry your hair in all directions after washing it. With your fingers, run mousse from the middle to ends of the hair to lock in the moisture to add texture to the hair
  • Depending on what looks best with your face, create a center part or deep side parting and begin braiding a basic loose braid, roughly starting around the eyeline
  • Once done, tie a clear elastic band at the end and start gently pulling at the sides of the braid with a tail comb. This will make the look more un-done and messy as well as make your braid appear thicker, helping those with thin hair
  • Spray some hair spray on the teeth of your fine comb and smoothen out the hair on your crown toward the braid. Apply a light misting of hairspray to keep it in place and looking perfectly messy all day long

Fabulous 40’s

  • Take a front section of hair and pin out of place, this is used to create the fabulous wave. Pull the remaining hair into a tight, off centre-mid-ponytail. The look should be tight and sleek on one side, with a flowing wave on the other
  • Divide the ponytail into two or three sections and tease the bottom sections and smoothen the top with a comb, twist each section and wrap to create a bun
  • With the front section, tong it and structure the wave with a tail comb, pinning the ends into the bun with bobby pins
  • If you feel  the body of your bun is too tight, gently pull it apart with your hands or the end of a tail comb

Signature Waves

  • Prep your hair using the new Tresemmé Hair Spa Rejuvenation range shampoo and the massageable conditioner
  • Depending on what look is best for your face, create a center part or deep side parting
  • With your fingers, run mousse from the middle to ends of the hair to add the texture to the hair
  • Take inch width sections of hair and tong from where you applied the moose, making sure to tong away from the face. A top tip, release the tonged hair when the hair just starts to become too hot to touch. Repeat this step around the rest of your head
  • With all sections tonged, open up the waves by gently brushing your hair through. Spray some hair spray on the teeth of your fine comb and smoothen out the hair on your crown toward the waves. Lock the look with hair spray
