HYDERABAD: With an aim to conduct office procedures electronically for a simplified, responsive, effective and transparent working, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) launched e-Office here on Saturday.
The e-Office is a Mission Mode Project under the National e-Governance Programme (NeGP).
The advantages of e-Office include enhancing transparency, increase accountability, assure data security and data integrity, provide a platform for re-inventing and re-engineering the government.
The programme was launched by GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation head office.
Electronic filing has many advantages over filing on paper via mail or express delivery services, increase in speed with which applications can be filed, ability to file 24 hours a day, seven days a week, making it possible to receive a filing date on days the office is officially closed; and extending the time for filing on any given day till midnight.
