HYDERABAD:A circle inspector attached to the Two Town police station in Karimnagar found himself on the wrong side of the law when he was caught in the company of a married woman sub-inspector of police in a hotel room at Abids here on Friday night.
The hotel witnessed a high drama after the inspector, caught in the act, none other than by the woman SI’s husband, who suddenly descended on the hotel Friday night, started running out of the hotel while the woman was left shell-shocked and embarrassed.
All the drama was captured by the CCTV cameras in the hotel. The Abids police registered a case of adultery and criminal intimidation against the inspector.
The inspector in question is TC Swamy (35) and the woman SI is Ch Rajyalakshmi (30) who is attached to the Mahaboobabad Rural police station in Warangal district. Both Swamy and Rajyalakshmi were in Hyderabad for Assembly bandobust.
According to the police, Sunil Reddy, a software employee in Chennai, is a native of Hanmakonda, Warangal, and has been married to Rajyalakshmi for almost a year. They had strained relationship since their marriage on November 28 last. Swamy and Rajyalakshmi hail from Warangal town and have known each other for years. While Swamy has been an inspector for three years after nine years of service as a sub-inspector, Rajyalakshmi joined the department in 2009.
“Her husband was supposed to come and meet her on Saturday but arrived on Friday night itself, to sort out issues between them. To his shock, he found another man in her room and informed the police. We brought all of them to the station at 11 pm and, after investigation, recorded the arrest of TC Swamy at 3 am,” said a police official.
However, sources suggested that Reddy had information about his wife’s relationship with another man. “He was all agitated when he arrived at the hotel around 10.50 pm.
He knocked on Door No: 217 on the first floor for about 20 minutes. Finding another man inside his wife’s room, it led to a violent confrontation. The inspector tried to run away while Reddy tried to chase him. Meanwhile, hotel staff and the autorickshaw drivers at the gate caught the man trying to escape and beat him,” said a worker who was on duty.
It is learnt that Swamy tried to show his police identity when Abids police patrol team arrived and took him into custody.
Both, Swamy and Rajyalakshmi had been attached to the Saifabad PS for Assembly duty. While Rajyalakshmi was allotted accommodation at Hotel Sri Brindavan since November 4, it is learnt that Swamy, put up elsewhere, used to frequently visit her in the night. “On Friday, madam came to room around 6.20 pm and, as usual, sir came at 8.15 pm. I have seen him arrive around 8.15 pm twice before,” said a member of the staff at the hotel.
Abids police registered a case of adultery and criminal intimidation against Swamy, based on a complaint by Sunil Reddy.
