Speeding Car Kills One Biker

HYDERABAD: A 29-year-old private employee died on the spot and two others were hospitalised with severe injuries after a speeding Audi car in which a couple who reportedly were driving in an intoxicated condition hit two bikes from back side. The mishap took place at Road 3, Banjara Hills on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Moghal Shavali (29), supervisor in a supermarket, resident of Bowenpally. The injured were Umer Singh Malik and Ravi. When the accident took place, Malik and Moghal Shavali were riding on a bike.

Shavali was supposed to go home from Kukatpally to Bowenpally via Balanagar. However, he came to Banjara Hills to drop his friend Malik. Around 12.30 am on Saturday night, as they reached Road No 3, Banjara Hills, a speeding car (AP 10 BF 4800) hit Shavali’s bike from rear side. Later, the car rammed another bike on which Ravi was riding.

Minutes after the accident took place, two persons who were travelling in car got down and took an auto and fled the spot. “The car was registrated on the name of Manbhum Construction Company Private Limited located at Medchal road, Kompally. We suspect that when the accident occurred, two persons who were in the car might have been in an intoxicated condition and thus the driver lost control that led to the mishap killing a person on the spot and injuring two others,” said Banjara Hills sub -inspector Vinod. Police found a pair of woman sandals inside the vehicle.

However, police were tightlipped over the accident. The deputy commissioner of police (DCP) A Venkateswara Rao said they are yet to identify the accused.

They are investigating the case. Police registered cases under section 304 (A) (Causing death by negligence), 338 (Causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC.

Moghal Sha Vali was the only son of his parents. After receiving the news of his death, his family members vented out their anger on police. The victim’s wife is pregnant.
